1.
PLEASE READ THE GENERAL REQUIREMENTS.
We recognise that FOWC is made up of believers in Christ Jesus and
the only requirement necessary to be accepted into fellowship with
the Father and the Son is a born again experience. While we know
that His Grace is sufficient for us in ministry and none of us are
desiring any further yoke of law-living to be put upon us. We would
like to see however that our fellowship in FOWC would include a
loving acceptance of each other in the bond of peace. Below are
some guidelines which cover the general requirements for FOWC members:
To
recognise that every Christian is a unique container of God to
be used by the Lord as He chooses to express Himself through them. |
To
conduct ones daily affairs, finances and business relations with
honest Christian integrity. |
To
hold a good report within the community. |
To
maintain a teachable spirit towards the other leaders in the Body
of Christ. |
To
speak in a respectful and edifying manner where other members
of the Body of Christ are concerned. |
To
refrain from sowing seeds of discord among the body by gossip,
rumors and opinionated criticism. |
To
abstain from the consumption of illegal drugs. |
To
pursue a Christian relationship with other members of FOWC. |
To
respect the rights of others and allow them to be different, as
long as their actions comply with the written Word of God. |
To
support and give your loyalty to any pastor who you are serving
who is following Jesus. |
To
deal justly with the love commands of Scripture concerning all
areas of fellowship, relationships, unity and brotherly love.
|
To
follow the procedure as commanded in the Scriptures when faced
with a brother or sister who is in violation of these love commands.
|
2.
CHOOSE THE CREDENTIALS FOR WHICH YOU ARE APPLYING
FOWC offers Personal Credentials for:
| A.
Those who are applying for affiliation as a Christian
Helper. |
| B.
Those who are applying for ministerial licensing
credentials or who are already licensed and are applying
for affiliation as a Licensed Minister. |
| C.
Those who are already ordained and are applying for affiliation
as an Ordained Minister.* |
*We
feel that the process of ordination is best left to the local
church or to those who are better acquainted with the individual
minister. To be recognised as an ordained minister, you must have
been ordained by the laying on of hands by the leadership of your
local church. However, FOWC can, under certain circumstances,
assist in the ordination process.
FOWC
offers Ministry/Church Credentials for:
| D.
Those who are the ordained senior minister of the church/para-church
ministry they are putting forward for Ministry/Church
affiliation.** |
**Applicants
who put forward their ministry/church also receive Personal Credentials
and should already be ordained. If you are not ordained, you can
be licensed though FOWC and after one year, subject to requirements
and review, ordination is available, at which time your church
can receive affiliation as well.
3.
REVIEW THE BENEFITS OF THE CREDENTIALS FOR WHICH YOU ARE APPLYING
Upon
your successful application you will gain recognition from
FOWC as part of a word-wide group of ministers who are preaching
the message of 'Christ in you the hope of Glory' which the
apostle Paul called the "mystery gospel". Your ministry
will be accommodated in a vehicle, without the strings of legalism
attached, whether you have a denominational or non-denominational
background. You will be able to gain fellowship online at FOWC.net
with other ministers without bonds or impositions put upon
you. Membership does not mean that FOWC provides financial
support. The following specific benefits apply to the credentials'

(MINISTRY/CHURCH
AFFILIATIONS)
Ministries and Churches affiliate with FOWC for many
of the same reasons as an individual would. An affiliation with
FOWC opens doors for interaction, fellowship and networking. Additionally
the umbrella provides, if necessary, an important benefit of a
legal covering for the church or ministry. Strength through identification
with the larger body of churches and ministries, is an often underestimated
benefit of membership.

ENSURE YOU MEET THE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION
| A.
Those who are applying for affiliation as
a Christian Helper. |
This recognition is issued to those persons who are called
of God as helpers, or who are just beginning their ministry
and are not authorized to perform any ministerial functions,
but are primarily assisting others in the body of Christ.
These applicants may include, teachers, singers,
outreach workers, worship leaders, instructors, hospital and
jail visitation workers, or ministerial assistants. |
| B.
Those who are applying for ministerial licensing
credentials or who are already licensed and are applying
for affiliation as a Licensed Minister. |
This ministerial recognition includes those who are somewhat
seasoned in the ministry, but need further experience
to be fully established. It is also used by those individuals
that have been working in their chosen vocation, but
have never been ordained by the "laying on of hands".
A person holding a General License must have the capability
of performing ministerial functions, but is not required
to perform them on a regular or ongoing basis. |
| C.
Those who are already ordained and are applying for
affiliation as an Ordained Minister.* |
This ministerial recognition is given to those persons who
have an "established" or "proven" ministry, and have
been officially ordained into the ministry by their peers. |
D.
Those who are the ordained senior minister of the
church/para-church ministry they are putting forward for
Ministry/Church affiliation.** |
The
word "ministry" is used in reference to an evangelistic
outreach (including but not limited to teaching, music,
and other para-church ministries) organized for promoting
the Gospel of Christ and for humanitarian efforts. |
